Spring 2007 Race 1 & 2 report
The seasons opening races in stronger winds than expected produced some exciting racing and spectacular broaches.
The day also revealed some other news.
- Autumn series winner, George, became a dad today. Congratulations to him and his family.
- PSC webmaster and former sailing secretary, Gareth Tovey, is due get married soon, in Canada. Congratulations to the happy couple.
Spring 2007 Race 3 & 4 report
Another day of strong winds. The verdict, OMK was rubbish today. Still we managed to get a great port tack flyer over the whole fleet and we were the only boat daft enough to use the full main.
Spring 2007 Race 5 & 6 report
In contrast to the previous events, the racing was in extreme light winds. A strong tide added interest. OMK was consistent in these flukey conditions, and the spinnaker got an airing.
Spring 2007 Race 7 report
A longer race in which all manner of things went wrong, but we still managed a close finish on the water.
Spring 2007 Race 8 & 9 report
A gentle breeze and not a cloud in the sky. What a way to finish the series. With the light breeze and strong tide, the fleet split in the first race of the day. It turned out that there was a big difference between the options.
In the second race of the day, One More Knot and her crew found a new gear. Line Honours were claimed by a big margin, just not quite big enough to hang onto 4th place in the series. At least it re-inspired the crew after a sequence of less than sizzling results.
The series was celebrated in the club house afterwards. The weather throughout had been very kind. A couple of strong wind days early on, but no rain. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks to the organisers from the competitors.
