For the past 10 years our so, we have been skiing with a group of fellow lunatics.
We have inflicted ourselves on a number of resorts
Great for beginners. Good atmosphere. Cheap and cheerful.
OK, fun atmosphere, but I hope you like the ice. We skied mostly on the Hintertux glacier, a 40 minute bus ride away. Phil learnt to snowboard here.
Coming soon ....... our next visit in Jan 2002
Home of the longest black run in Europe. A great bowl full of skiing. Beginners skiing is near the bottom. The experts have to queue a bit longer to get to the serious stuff at the top. And then ..... there's Tunnel .... a run with a reputation ...... Phil didn't fall down it ..... much!
Great skiing, loads of tame runs .... greens and blues. Some really really great reds and a number of blacks. Of course if that's not enough, then there are the Couloirs. This really is a skiers all round resort. We thought that the night life was a bit tame. And yes ...... they really do wear fur coats and have poodles in France ... this is THE place to see it with your own eyes.
Good resort, great location for the 3 vallees, not quite ski in ski out. Go in a pub here and your likely to be served by a Brit or Aussie ! Lynn got loads of bruises learning to monoski here.
Fantastic ski area, links with Val D'Isere. Not so good for atmosphere, but always great skiing. We've been a couple of times.
Fab resort, great skiing, great atmosphere, long transfer. Love the place, been back many times.
Fab skiing, can get windy, ski in ski out if you know where to stay. Still a bit of a concrete jungle, but not as bad as it was. Its worth getting inside, don't make your mind up from the ski lift.
Great snow hole ! Hire kit is basic, so take your own stuff.
Great friendly resort. Mainly on 3 mountains (peaks). Access to other resorts such as Keystone, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe. This was our first introduction to champagne powder.
Some good skiing, but the snow can be pretty heavy. We had a wail of a time on snow mobiles. A fantastic time. Really spooky being in the snow and looking down on the desert. From this location we also visited Kirkwood, Squaw Valley and Sierra at Tahoe.
The back bowls in 2 feet of fresh champagne powder provide memories for a lifetime! It always seemed to snow at night ....... perfect.
